LABOUR’S internal war intensified today as former leader Jeremy Corbyn tied the party’s unprecedented decision to ban him from standing again to a broader assault on democratic rights.

At the same time his successor Sir Keir Starmer insisted on LBC radio that he had never supported or been friends with Mr Corbyn, whom he described as a “friend” when running for the leadership.

The Islington North MP, who was banned two weeks ago from being a Labour candidate in Islington North at the next election by the national executive committee (NEC), penned a piece in the Islington Tribune condemning the “insult to the millions of people who voted for our party in 2017 and 2019” as well as to those who supported Sir Keir’s leadership bid on the basis he would, as he claimed, maintain Mr Corbyn’s radical policies.

Starmeroids block another popular local candidate – in favour of parachuted Blairites

Two entire Labour committees have resigned after yet another candidate selection stitch-up by Keir Starmer and his drones in the Labour party.

Local favourite Greg Marshall – backed by figures from a wide spectrum of the party – tweeted news that the party had blocked him from the shortlist:

In response to the shameless rigging, the local party (CLP) selection committee resigned and issued a withering statement about London officials overriding local democracy:

Shortly afterward, the entire CLP executive resigned too over the ‘undemocratic’ behaviour of the party and its national executive (NEC):

Meanwhile, Anna Joy Rickard – a literal Blairite – was tweeting her joy at being shortlisted and was admonished by a local figure for her claim, when no shortlist had even been announced:

Broxtowe is just the latest in a series of shamelessly-rigged selections as the Labour right tries to eradicate the left, both in seats that Labour does not hold and in those it does – and a repeat of Labour’s routine tactic of fixing selections by making sure members can only choose from a shortlist of approved Blairites.

MPs are ass*oles

Spread the love

I’m not saying that all MPs are ass*oles and there is the odd one or two who are OK. These ones certainly are.

David Babbs represents the campaign group 38degrees. Many MPs dislike 38degrees because it encourages people to engage in democracy and hold MPs to account.

The Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership, TTIP is a very simple concept to understand. It is intended to subvert democracy by allowing commercial interests to take governments to the courts in secret. TTIP negotiations are also conducted in secret with interests like the MPs in the clip not wanting any transparency or accountability. What more is there to understand?
